Searching for Relatives, found Royalty
Five years ago I was looking for the Civil War Soldiers in our families. I found a lot. But that's another story entirely.
This year was my year to put our family in Familysearch.com and that went well. It's a free site and is part of the Latter Day Saints (Mormon) site, they have THE biggest site, and its free. Part of their religion is working and doing genealogy, volunteering, and sharing their expertise with the world. So our information is on their site.
Several times, I traced long, long lines thru my relatives, and I have had such a good time connecting the dots! Then I discovered some titles. First Knights, then Princes, then kings. Lots of Kings. I went all the way back to Adam. The second time I did it I sat and started writing it down and over the course of a few evenings I got nine pages. Then I decided to type it all up.
I occasionally used Google, and looked up a King, or a Castle, an ancient town or country. I did not find one person, place, or thing which is not well documented or explored online. Not One.Royals keep good records. There is some questions, and some mistakes, many lines repeat or skip, but there are several sites online where people have done the same thing. I bet you could, also.
Our "connection to royalty is thru Evelyn's mother and Evander Barrows line. Then I switched and swapped from husband to wife whoever had the best records. It's great fun, and doesn't cost anything.
so the list, or the "book" is a work in progress, and I want to copy it, and "think" about publishing a little booklet, and I am designing a cover page which any relative can use who is related to Evelyn, and her sisters. Especially Aunt Lila, who is soon having a birthday. I am hoping to copy and paste it here. Wish me luck.
It's a nice project for this first winter in Michigan in 20 years, we sold out in Florida last year. We just "aged out" and felt it was time.
The story will be on a separate page, so if you're not interested in it, it can be avoided.
